Dr. Thomas Barrett joins University Orthopedics

Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics added Thomas Barrett, MD, to its team of orthopedic surgeons, reports GoLocalProv.

Dr. Barrett is a fellowship-trained adult reconstructive surgeon, specializing in first-time and revision replacements of the hip and knee, including partial knee replacements and arthroscopy of the knee for torn cartilage.

He earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic residency at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College. Dr. Barrett underwent his fellowship in adult reconstructive orthopedics at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he participated in the treatment of over 500 joint replacement patients.

Dr. Barrett has authored several publications and book chapters on orthopedic surgery and has presented research across the country.

He joins a team of over 40 orthopedic and sports medicine physicians at UO.
