Virginia Beach, Va.-based Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2019, The Hampton Roads Business Journal reports.
What you should know:
1. Foy Vann, MD, the first orthopedic surgeon in Hampton Roads, Va., founded AOS in 1919.
2. The practice remains physician-owned 100 years later.
3. In the century since its founding, AOS has grown into the largest orthopedic practice in the area with 22 clinicians, 10 nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and 21 therapists on staff.
4. AOS has two Virginia-based offices and three Virginia-based walk-in clinics.
"Our physicians are very accomplished, we cover all the different subspecialties in orthopedics and our geographic footprint allows us to conveniently serve patients," said AOS President J. Abbott Byrd III, MD.
