Retired surgeon returning to orthopedic group as 2 others join — 5 insights

Clyde, N.C.-based Haywood Regional Medical Center welcomed two orthopedic surgeons and announced the return of a third, The Mountaineer reports.

Five insights:

1. Abby Maxwell, MD, and Charles Maloy, MD, are now part of Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists at HRMC.

2. They will practice alongside Paul Cutting, MD, Benjamin Debelak, DO, physician assistant Kelly Klein, and Gerald King, MD.

3. Dr. King is rejoining Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists on Nov. 4 after retiring earlier this year.

4. Dr. Maxwell comes to HRMC from Charles DePaolo Orthopaedics in Asheville, N.C. She graduated from Valhalla-based New York Medical College and completed a fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.

5. Dr. Maloy completed a fellowship at Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute in Elmwood, La., after attending the Oklahoma City-based University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and undergoing residency training at the Indiana University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Indianapolis.
