Orthopedic surgeon Joshua Jacobs, MD, was elected vice president of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for a one-year term.
Dr. Jacobs serves as William A. Hark, MD and Susanne G. Swift professor and chair of orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and was elected to the ABOS board in 2016.
He specializes in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement and has a particular interest in researching biomaterials.
Dr. Jacobs served as president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2013. He is also a past-president of both the Orthopaedic Research Society and United States Bone and Joint Decade.
