Surgeons aren't optimistic that orthopedic surgery volumes will return to normal by the end of the year, according to new survey results from Canaccord Genuity, an investment banking and financial services firm.
Medical Device And Diagnostic Industry published several findings from the survey, including orthopedic surgeons' year-over-year expectations for volumes in the fourth quarter (October to December):
1. Very negative (down by more than 50 percent): 12 percent
2. Modestly negative (down 25 percent to 50 percent): 24 percent
3. Slightly negative (down 0 percent to 25 percent): 40 percent
4. No impact: 12 percent
5. Slightly positive (up 0 percent to 25 percent): 6 percent
6. Modestly positive (up 25 percent to 50 percent): 4 percent
7. Very positive (up by more than 50 percent): 50 percent
