Orthopedic surgeon Jonathan Snyder, MD, will serve as Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital's inaugural chief medical officer, according to The Mount Airy News.
Dr. Snyder will continue practicing as an orthopedic surgeon "while influencing system-wide decisions and performance" in his new role, said Paul Hammes, CEO of the Elkin, N.C.-based hospital.
Dr. Snyder joined the medical staff at Hugh Chatham in 2009. From 2014-17, Dr. Snyder served as surgery chief at the hospital, and in January 2018, he became chief of the medical staff.
Dr. Snyder is a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
