Canandaigua (N.Y.) Orthopaedic Associates' years-long partnership with Canandaigua-based UR Medicine Thompson Health is coming to an end, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Canandaigua Orthopaedics Associates is joining Rochester (N.Y.) Regional Health Oct. 1, the Finger Lakes Times reported in late August.
Starting in mid-September, Rochester.-based UR Medicine's Orthopaedics & Physical Performance team will provide inpatient and outpatient care at F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua most days of the week, according to a separate Finger Lakes Times report.
The eight-surgeon Orthopaedics & Physical Performance team took over emergency room orthopedic care at F.F. Thompson Hospital Jan. 1.
"As one era ends, another begins," said Thompson Health President and CEO Michael Stapleton Jr. "I want to thank Canandaigua Orthopaedic Associates for its many years of partnership with Thompson Health. While we were disappointed they ultimately chose to align with a competitor, we are looking ahead."
Mr. Stapleton said he has "full confidence" in the UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance team, who will facilitate management of complex cases.
