Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has appointed Daryl Osbahr, MD, as managing director and chief of orthopedic surgery of Rothman Florida.
Dr. Osbahr has served as chief of sports medicine at Orlando (Fla.) Health since 2014. His experience in the professional sports world includes serving as an orthopedic consultant for the Washington Nationals, Atlanta Braves and USA Baseball, and chief medical officer and head orthopedic surgeon for the Orlando City Soccer Club.
He specializes in the treatment of complex shoulder, knee and elbow pathologies, such as cartilage injuries, meniscal transplantation, multiligamentous knee injuries and rotator cuff repair.
On Dec. 1, Dr. Osbahr will begin seeing patients in Polk County, Fla.
Last month, Rothman Orthopaedics partnered with AdventHealth in Orlando, which will help navigate the practice's expansion into Central Florida.
The practice will begin seeing patients in Florida in January 2021, where it plans to have 85 surgeons within the next 10 years.
