$23M hospital brings orthopedic surgery to Colorado town

Indianapolis-based St. Vincent Health is wrapping up development of a $28 million hospital in Leadville, Colo., which will bring orthopedic and general surgery to the area, the Leadville Herald Democrat reports.

Four things to know:

1. Construction began in 2016 and was initially estimated to cost about $12 million.

2. The hospital plans to hire about 15 new employees, according to the report.

3. On June 1, St. Vincent is also merging with Longmont, Colo.-based Rocky Mountain Family Practice, a six-provider group.

4. St. Vincent's expects to open in the hospital in mid-July.
