A surgeon who operated on a Congressional leader and nine more orthopedic surgeons to know:

April Armstrong, MD. Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (Pennsylvania). Dr. Armstrong was recently named chair of the orthopedics department at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine. She's an associate editor for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Louis Bley, MD. Atrius Health (Boston). Dr. Bley is a sports medicine specialist with clinical interests in arthroscopic shoulder, knee and ankle surgery. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus and completed residencies at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland and Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Joshua Campbell, MD. George Washington University Hospital (Washington, D.C.). Dr. Campbell is a total joint specialist who took a special interest in minimally invasive hip surgery during his training. Recently, he operated on House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland.

Mark Getelman, MD. Southern California Orthopedic Institute (Van Nuys). Dr. Getelman specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery. He was recently named president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Forest Heis, MD. OrthoCincy (Highland Heights and Florence, Ky.). Dr. Heis received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He was named a Top Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine seven times since 2012.

Julia Katarincic, MD. University Orthopedics (Providence, R.I.). Dr. Katarincic specializes in hand and microvascular surgery. She received her medical degree at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, R.I.

Matthew Levine, DO. Resurgens Orthopaedics (Atlanta). Dr. Levine specializes in reconstructive joint surgery, robotic knee replacement, anterior total hip replacement and outpatient joint replacement. He was named the medical honoree for the Arthritis Foundation's 2021 Walk to Cure Arthritis Georgia.

Peter Mangone, MD. EmergeOrtho Blue Ridge Division (Arden, N.C.). Dr. Mangone has worked in private practice with EmergeOrtho since 1999. He's a founding member of the Ankle Instability Group.

Raj Pandya, MD. Atlanta Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Pandya is president and founder of Atlanta Orthopedic Institute. He specializes in sports medicine and knee and shoulder surgery.

Michael Wilwand, Walla Walla (Wash.) Clinic. Dr. Wilwand's practice focuses on sports medicine. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Mount Clemens (Mich.) Regional Medical Center.
