3 orthopedic surgeons honored in the last 30 days

Becker's Spine Review reported on three orthopedic surgeons receiving recognition in the last month:

1. After more than 50 years practicing as an orthopedic surgeon, an endowed chair has been established at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to honor David Drez Jr., MD. Currently, Dr. Drez serves as senior advisor at Center for Orthopaedics, a 19-physician practice with locations in Lake Charles and Sulphur, La.

2. Benjamin Domb, MD, founder and medical director of the American Hip Institute, has received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 Midwest Award, the institute announced Aug. 13. He founded the center in 2012, and the institute specializes exclusively in hip injury treatment and surgeries.

3. Kristaps Keggi, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and researcher at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., was inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame. Dr. Keggi is a professor emeritus and senior research scientist in the orthopedics and rehabilitation department.
