Craig Della Valle, MD, a surgeon at Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, was elected second vice president of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Della Valle is a total joint replacement surgeon, professor and chief of adult reconstructive surgery, according to an Oct. 20 news release. He works out of clinics in Chicago and Munster, Ind., and has performed nearly 12,000 hip and knee replacement surgeries. He also has published more than 300 peer-reviewed publications.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and completed his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
Dr. Della Valle will take over as president of the Mid-America Orthopaedic Association in 2024.
