Two orthopedic surgeons reflect on what they're grateful for in 2021 ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Ask Orthopedic Surgeons is a weekly series of questions posed to surgeons around the country about clinical, business and policy issues affecting orthopedic care. We invite all orthopedic surgeon and specialist responses.
Next question: What's the biggest payer obstacle you anticipate in 2022?
Please send responses to Carly Behm at cbehm@beckershealthcare.com by 5 p.m. CST Wednesday, Dec. 1.
Ask Orthopedic Surgeons will not run next week due to the holiday.

Question: What are you most thankful for?
Jason Snibbe, MD. Snibbe Orthopedics (Los Angeles): I'm thankful for the opportunity and trust that patients allow me to treat them surgically and nonsurgically. Being an orthopedic surgeon is an amazing profession and it allows me to bring movement and function into people's lives. I love my job and love the relationships I have developed with all of my patients, and for that I am thankful.
Ronald Hillock, MD. Nevada Orthopedic & Spine Center (Las Vegas): I am thankful to live in a time and place where I can provide treatment through orthopedic implants. Most of what I do for people requires complex and expensive devices that have only come available during my lifetime.
