Freezing Damaged Nerves Can Help Relieve Chronic Pain

Pain Management

Data presented at the Society of Interventional Radiology's 38th Annual Scientific Meeting in New Orleans, April 13-18, 2013, showed that using tiny balls of ice, a minimally invasive radiology treatment called cryoneurolysis, helps provide relief from chronic pain caused by nerve damage, according to a press release.
Nerve-damaged patients said that they experienced relief after the cryoneurolysis treatment froze the nerve and prevented pain signals from being sent to the brain.
