DePuy Mitek, an orthopedics sports medicine company announced the U.S. and European launch of the Bristow-Latarjet Instability Shoulder System, the first instrument set specifically designed to be used in both open and arthroscopic Latarjet or Bristow procedures, according to a Johnson & Johnson news release.

The Bristow-Latarjet system was developed by orthopedic surgeon Laurent Lafosse, MD, and allows surgeons to smoothly transition between open and arthroscopic procedures, according to the release.

The new system includes the Coracoid Drill guide to help create the optimal location for drill holes in the coracoid graft and the Coracoid Positioning Cannula that holds the graft for more precise positioning, according to the release.

DePuy is expected to launch the news system in the next few weeks.
