NuOrtho Surgical, a surgical instrument developer, has received FDA clearance to market the Ceruleau, its new surgical probe, according to a report from The Herald News.
The Ceruleau is designed to leave less damage on the cartilage when performing surgery for injuries or lesions on the knees and shoulders. In most severe injury cases, surgeons using Ceruleau will not need to use screws or plates for the patient.
Additionally, Ceruleau operates at low temperature and energy levels in order to avoid electrode-to-tissue contact, according to the report.
