Providence Medical Technology's Corus navigation access system was cleared by the FDA for use with Medtronic's StealthStation system for posterior spinal fusions.

The navigation access system is designed to help surgeons locate, access and prepare facet joints for posterior spinal fusions, Providence Medical Technology said in a June 13 news release. It can be used with the Corus spinal system.

"The newly released CORUS navigation system offers simplicity and accuracy for placement of CAVUX FFS-LX implants and provides the surgeon with a truly minimally invasive approach for posterior fusion, with a wide array of indications, including advanced disc degeneration and adjacent segment disease," spine surgeon Bryan Lee, MD, said in the release.
