Janet Dunlap, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Orthopedics Specialists of North County in Oceanside, Calif. She also provides care at the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute at Tri-City Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, California Medical Association and North American Spine Society. During her career, she won the Russell Hibbs Award for single outstanding research from NASS.
Dr. Dunlap focuses on diagnosis and treatment of neck and back problems, with medical and surgical treatments. She has a professional interest in scoliosis, spinal fractures and spinal stenosis. She is a qualified medical evaluator for the state of California and a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
"Information, education and an honest explanation of a patient's condition and treatment options are the three most important elements in instilling confidence in patients — that I am committed to their well-being and care about doing what's best for them," she said, according to the OSNC website.
Dr. Dunlap earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. She completed her residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and has completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Scripps Clinic Research Facility at La Jolla, Calif.
