Ronald A. Lehman Jr., MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Lehman specializes in complex spinal deformities including scoliosis, kyphosis, revision spinal surgeries and minimally invasive applications for deformity surgery, as well as cervical spine, cervical disc arthroplasty/replacement, myelopathy and radiculopathy. He also focuses on minimally invasive surgery of the cervical and lumbar spine, and spinal tumors and cancer of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
Dr. Lehman earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and completed his residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. He also completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric spine surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.
Dr. Lehman was previously Lieutenant Colonel in the Army, where he received three Meritorious Service Medals, the "A" Proficiency Designator and the Order of Military Medical Merit. Currently, Dr. Lehman serves as the program chairman of the Cervical Spine Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society and Lumbar Spine Research Society. He will take over as chairman of the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques in 2017.
Dr. Lehman has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of several Department of Defense research grants totaling more than $10 million.
