Amgad S Hanna, MD, is a neurosurgeon for UW Health and an associate professor of neurosurgery for the University of Wisconsin Department of Neurological Surgery, both in Madison.
Dr. Hanna specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the spine and peripheral nerves. He has experience in complex spine surgery, treatment of intradural tumors and minimally invasive spine surgery. Additionally he has had extensive training in peripheral nerve surgery and is considered an expert in the treatment of brachial plexus injuries and neurofibromatosis.
After Dr. Hanna obtained his medical degree from Cairo University in Egypt, he completed an internship at Frankford Hospital in the Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia. He completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his fellowship in spine and peripheral nerve at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and he completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Washington University at St. Louis.
