Sakthivel Rajan Rajaram Manoharan, MD, is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery and attending physician at the University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical Center.
Dr. Rajaram Manoharan specializes in treating all aspects of spinal disorders and general trauma, including spinal trauma, general orthopaedic trauma, spinal infections, degenerative disorders, deformities and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Dr. Rajaram Manoharan obtained his medical degree from the Government Medical College in Madurai, India. He completed an orthopedic residency at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India — graduating first in class. He has completed four fellowships at a several institutes worldwide including: St. John of God Hospital in Australia, Queen's Medical Center in the United Kingdom, The Ohio State University Medical Center and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Rajaram Manoharan is a member of several professional societies, and has had his research published in several journals. He is an editorial board member/review for 15 journals on spine and orthopedics and his work has been presented at several international conferences.
