Dennis Charles Crawford, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Oregon Health and Science University, in Portland, Ore.
Dr. Crawford's focus is on surgical repair and replacement of cartilage, articular and ligamentous soft tissue injuries around the knee and shoulder.
Dr. Crawford received his medical degree in biochemistry from the Boston University School of Medicine. He had an orthopedic surgery residency at Brown University in Providence, R.I. He then completed two fellowships. One was an orthopedic trauma and fracture fellowship at Brown. The other was a knee and shoulder fellowship at the University of California, in San Francisco.
Dr. Crawford has published more than 50 articles relating to best practices surrounding knee and shoulder sports medicine surgery and cartilage repair. He has led several FDA-regulated clinical trials related to cartilage surgery, and he is a member of several national professional organizations.
