Brian R. Subach, MD, is a neurosurgeon and president of Reston-based Virginia Spine Institute.
Dr. Subach performs spinal neurosurgery and orthopedic spinal surgery, utilizing robot-guidance in many of his operations. He currently serves as chief scientific officer and board member for the Spinal Research Foundation, and is editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Spinal Research Foundation.
He has served as a principal investigator on clinical trials and was previously an assistant professor of neurosurgery and spinal surgery at Atlanta-based Emory University. Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Spinal Surgery, Dr. Subach was named one of Northern Virginia Magazine's top doctors in 2017.
After graduating from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan School of Medicine, Dr. Subach completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh and underwent a spinal surgery fellowship at Emory University.
