Mitchel Harris, MD, is a spine surgeon and chief of the department of orthopedics at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital.
Previously, Dr. Harris served as the chief of orthopedic and trauma services at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He has authored or co-authored more than 150 peer reviewed academic publications.
Dr. Harris is a post chair and mentor for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's leadership fellows committee. He is the founding director of the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation.
After earning his medical degree from Chicago-based University of Illinois College of Medicine, Dr. Harris completed his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. Dr. Harris also underwent fellowship training at the Sunnybrook Health Science Center in Toronto, Canada, and Queen's Medical
Centre in the United Kingdom.
