David Cohen, MD, is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon.
Dr. Cohen is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. He specializes in spine and back disorders, spinal injuries and cervical degenerative disc disease and injury.
He received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. Dr. Cohen completed his residency and underwent fellowship training in spinal reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Cohen's research focuses on clinical outcomes in spinal surgery and spinal deformities and disorders in adults. Dr. Cohen studies scoliosis and osteoporosis and the benefits of vertebral augmentation procedures for treating vertebral compression fractures. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Cohen also received his master's of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
