Sheryl Handler-Matasar, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon at Akron's Children's Hospital Specialty Care office in Boardman, Ohio.
Dr. Handler-Matasar is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in diagnosing and treating bone, joint, muscle and spine disorders in children, adolescents and young adults. She is a clinical instructor in the department of orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, conducts orthopedic research and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Handler-Matasar received her medical degree from New York City-based Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She underwent fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
She is a member of the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society North America. Her exercise regimen was featured in The Wall Street Journal's "What's Your Workout?" column.
