Daniel Sucato, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.
Dr. Sucato is the chief of staff and director of the hospital's Center for Excellence in Spine. He is also an associate professor of orthopedics at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and is an active staff member at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Dr. Sucato specializes in scoliosis and other spine disorders and hip disorders.
He received his medical degree from the State University of New York Buffalo School of Medicine, where he also completed his general surgery internship, orthopedic residency and basic science research fellowship. In 2003, he served as one of three International Traveling Fellows for the Scoliosis Research Society.
Dr. Sucato has published several scientific articles on spinal deformity and is interested in thoracoscopic approaches to the spine and adolescent hip dysplasia and its treatment with the Ganz pericetabular osteotomy. He is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, among other professional organizations. Dr. Sucato serves as a reviewer for Spine, The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and several other scientific journals, and he is on the advisory board of The United States Golf Association Resource Center for Individuals with Disabilities.
