Laurel Blakemore, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at University of Florida Health Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Gainesville.
Dr. Blakemore serves as the division chief of pediatric orthopedics at UF Health. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and underwent pediatric orthopedic fellowship training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Dr. Blakemore specializes in scoliosis, complex spinal deformity and general pediatric orthopedics.
She has published eight book chapters and more than 24 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. Dr. Blakemore serves as editorial reviewer for Spine Deformity and reviews for other journals. She is part of several international study groups focused on pediatric spinal deformity.
