Randall Hlubek, MD, became interested in medicine after interning with a prosthetics company in high school.
"I really enjoyed working with patients and helping them through their rough patches. They would come in to get fitted for prosthetics, and I helped build them," he said in a feature from Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain and Spine. "Many of the patients had lost a limb, and it was a trying time for them. I had an opportunity to interact with them and build a relationship and see them through the whole process."
He received his medical degree at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, and he completed his residency at Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.
Dr. Hlubek specializes in complex spine surgery, and believes in taking a team approach to patient care. While planning for surgery, he connects with a patient's primary care physician and other doctors and makes sure everyone has a chance to share their input.
He joined Mayfield Brain and Spine in 2019. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
