Edwin Ramos, MD, is a neurosurgeon presently practicing at the University of Chicago Medicine where he specializes in oncological and complex spinal surgery. Dr. Ramos treats patients with malignant or benign tumors of the spine, spinal cord and brain in addition to caring for patients with other degenerative or traumatic spine disorders.
Dr. Ramos is a member of several organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Society of Lateral Access Surgeons. He is currently an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine and is the author of several book chapters on spinal tumors, degenerative spine disorders and other topics in complex spine surgery.
Dr. Ramos attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico. He went on to complete his residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Ramos received his fellowship in oncological and complex spine surgery at the Ohio State University in Columbus.
