Mark Burnett, MD, is a spine surgeon at Austin-based NeuroTexas.
The National Institutes of Health awarded Dr. Burnett two research grants for his work in neurophysiology and the development of noninvasive blood flow monitors to treat patients with brain and spinal injuries.
Board certified in neurosurgery, Dr. Burnett authored more than 30 peer reviewed manuscripts and multiple book chapters. His clinical interests include complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal sports medicine and neurotrauma.
After earning his medical degree from Baltimore-based University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Burnett completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Burnett is also fellowship trained from the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
