Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Eric Elowitz of Weill Cornell Brain & Spine Center

Eric Elowitz, MD, is a spine surgeon and associate professor at New York City-based Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center.

Previously, Dr. Elowitz served as the co-director of the Minimally Invasive Spine Center at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He also received the Young Investigator Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

 

Dr. Elowitz specializes in disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis and cervical myelopathy. He has written various book chapters on the lateral approach for spinal fusions and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

 

Dr. Elowitz earned his medical degree and completed his residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City. He is also board certified in neurosurgery.
