Heidi Hullinger, MD, is a board certified orthopedic spine surgeon at New Jersey Spine Specialists in Summit, N.J.
Dr. Hullinger focuses on complex spine cases such as spinal deformity and tumors, but sees patients along the full spectrum of nonoperative and operative spine disorders.
She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was elected to the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Hullinger underwent orthopedic spine surgery fellowship training at the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
Dr. Hullinger plays an active role in medical education and served as a board member on the National Board of Medical Examiners for five years. She now sits on a committee responsible for awarding NBME grants to innovative medical education projects. Dr. Hullinger is active in the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery and American Medical Association. She has authored research articles and textbook chapters in the field of spine surgery.
Dr. Hullinger holds physician privileges at N.J.-based Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, Hackensack University Medical Center and Overlook Hospital in Summit.
