Joel Shobe, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon at Minn.-based St. Cloud Orthopedics.
Dr. Shobe specializes in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery for adult and pediatric patients. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City.
Dr. Shobe is a member of the North American Spine Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has more than 20 years of experience at St. Cloud Orthopedics and is affiliated with St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud Surgical Center and CentraCare Surgery Center in St. Cloud.
He is heading to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, as a medical advisor for short track speed skating, where he will be supervising the anti-doping testing. Dr. Shobe is a member of the International Skating Union, an international sport federation administering ice skating sports.
