Sameer Mathur, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Cary Orthopaedics in Raleigh, Durham and Cary, N.C.
Dr. Mathur specializes in total spine and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Rush-Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Mathur previously served as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
At UNC, Dr. Mathur researched optimal spinal cord injury treatment and the genetic causations for adolescent scoliosis. Dr. Mathur received the Scoliosis Research Society Award and Best New Investigator Award for his spinal research.
