Steven Ludwig, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Dr. Ludwig is a professor of orthopedics and oversees spinal surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, the Baltimore VA Medical Center and the Baltimore-based University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute. He is especially interested in cervical spine disorders, minimally invasive spinal techniques, motion preservation surgery, reconstruction of the traumatically injured spine and tumor reconstruction.
Dr. Ludwig received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Ludwig is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society and the Cervical Spine Research Society, among other professional organizations.
