Joshua M. Ammerman, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Washington (D.C.) Neurosurgical Associates.
Dr. Ammerman serves as the surgery department chair and chief of neurosurgery at Washington, D.C.-based Sibley Memorial Hospital. He specializes in minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery, traumatic brain and spinal injury, pituitary disorders and brain metastasis.
He received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and underwent fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health's National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Md.
He is an assistant clinical professor at George Washington University School of Medicine and an adjunct assistant clinical professor of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Ammerman is a member of the Spineuniverse.com editorial board, and his research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals.
