Jason L. Pittman, MD, PhD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and an assistant orthopedic surgery professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.
Dr. Pittman has expertise in spine trauma, spinal deformity and degenerative spinal disease. Dr. Pittman received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis and underwent orthopedic spine fellowship training at Seattle-based University of Washington Harborview Medical Center.
Dr. Pittman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AO North America and North American Spine Society, among other professional organizations. His research interests include proximal junctional kyphosis and device development. Dr. Pittman holds a doctorate in analytical chemistry from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
