Mark G. Burnett, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Austin-based NeuroTexas.
Dr. Burnett's interests include complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal sports medicine and peripheral nerve surgery, according to NeuroTexas.
He's been awarded research grants for his work in neurophysiology and the development of noninvasive blood flow monitors for patients with brain and spinal injuries.
Dr. Burnett has also been featured as an expert source for reporting in Austin. He's been featured on FOX 7 Austin and KXAN. He was recently named one of the city's top doctors by Austin Monthly.
He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and several book chapters, NeuroTexas said.
He studied at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale University as a Fulbright Scholar and received his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, according to NeruoTexas' website. After a residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, he did a fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
