Southwest and South Central Regions
Nevada, with high unemployment

 

West and Northwest Regions
Hawaii, where the cost of living is high, malpractice payments are high and a single payer dominates the market

 

Southeast Region
Florida, with rampant Medicare fraud and a highly litigious environment

 

Mid-Atlantic Region
Maryland, with physician saturation and high cost of living

 

Great Lakes and North Central Region
Illinois, with physician saturation, expensive malpractice and high tax burden

 

Northeast Region
Connecticut, with high cost of living, low average physician compensation and high physician density
