ADRSupport, a website gathering information and offering support for spine surgery patients, presented the initial findings of a postoperative survey to the Spinal Arthroplasty Society's meeting in New Orleans and is ready to create a spine surgery registry, according to a company news release.
The survey included questions about the SF-36 as well as questions regarding surgical costs, device name and type, cervical or lumbar levels, obstacles to surgery, complications, demographics and preoperative diagnostics.
Among the data presented, the survey found that 68 percent of patients had two or more levels affected by degenerative disc disease while 7 percent of patients received a DEXA scan to assess bone density risks.
