NASS Names Dr. William Watters as 2013-2014 President

William C. Watters III, MD, has been named president of the North American Spine Society for the 2013-2014 year. Dr. William C. Watters III, MD, of North American Spine Society and Baylor College of MedicineHe is a clinical associate professor for the departments of orthopedic surgery at both the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

As president, Dr. Watters looks to lead NASS in its efforts to use ethical, evidence-based medical practices and advocate for quality spine care. He will also focus on growing the organization's spinal registry.

Dr. Watters graduated from Harvard Medical School in Boston. He completed residency in internal medicine and orthopedic surgery. He also completed advanced spinal surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
