Merle P. Stringer, MD, a neurosurgeon at Brain and Spine Center, was reappointed to the Board of Medicine in Florida, according to a report from The News Herald.
Dr. Stringer's reappointment will require state Senate confirmation. He was appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott to serve his second term. Dr. Stringer has served as a member of the board of trustees at two area hospitals and Northwest Florida Surgery Center. He has been president of the Florida Neurosurgical Society and Bays Medical Society.
Dr. Stringer earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed his neurological surgery residency at the University Hospital in Baltimore.
