30 Hospitals With New, Expanded Spine Services

  Here are 30 hospitals and health systems opening new spine centers or expanding existing spine services.

 

Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Medical Center unveiled an expansion and renovation of the Orthopedics and Neurosciences Center that includes 12 new private patient rooms and a nursing station for comprehensive total joint replacement and spine surgery.

 

Atlanta-based Shepherd Center and Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colo., which both focus on treating spinal cord and brain injury, established an alliance to create a center of excellence for catastrophic injury rehabilitation.

 

United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, W.Va., is building the UHC Orthopaedic and Spine Center, a 57,000-square-foot facility that includes rehabilitation, orthopedic and neurosurgery services.

 

Hannibal (Mo.) Regional Hospital opened the Hannibal Regional Spine Center dedicated to caring for patients with back problems.

 

Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Neb., opened a comprehensive spine center.
 
Cincinnati-based TriHealth and the Mayfield Clinic, also in Cincinnati, have formalized an agreement to provide expanded, comprehensive neurosurgery services to patients at the TriHealth system.
 
Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta established a dedicated orthopedic joint and spine center.
 
Pasco, Wash.-based Lourdes Health Network will soon open a new inpatient unit as part of its Joint & Spine Center.
 
Boone, N.C.-based Watauga Medical Center, part of Appalachian Regional Healthcare System, recently added several new surgical options, including spine surgery.
 
Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, in coordination with Carolinas Medical Center, is making a new local neurosurgical residency program in Charlotte, N.C., a reality.

 

St. Cloud, Minn.-based CentraCare Health opened the new wing of its Neuroscience and Spine Unit.
 
Crescent Medical Center will offer pain management services and the AccuraScope procedure for back pain, a minimally invasive procedure provided by North American Spine.

 

Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers entered into a partnership with Miami Children's Hospital, which includes enhanced access to Miami Children's pediatric neurosurgeons.
 
Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Ala., unveiled a new device that will be used to navigate spine surgery — iSuites from Stryker — the first of its kind in the state.
 
University of New Mexico's Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho has expanded its spinal surgery options with the addition of an endoscopic spine surgery program.

 

Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, S.C., opened the Center for Advanced Joint and Spine Care.
 
Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Memorial Health System opened a new spine center.
 
Abay Neuroscience Center in Wichita, Kan., is starting a bi-monthly clinic at Newton (Kan.) Medical Center.

 

Columbus-based OhioHealth announced plans for $91 million in improvements at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield (Ohio) Hospital and OhioHealth MedCentral Shelby (Ohio) Hospital, which will include expanded orthopedic services such as spine services.
 
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (N.J.) established the Center for Orthopedic & Spine Health.

 

Crystal Lake, Ill.-based Centegra Health System opened Centegra Health Center-Northern McHenry (Ill.), which includes a black and spine center.

 

Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, N.Y., planned a new neurosurgery program to provide care for spinal conditions.

 

University Hospital in Augusta, Ga., is planning a $9 million renovation to accommodate its growing spine surgery and orthopedics practices.

 

Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health opened Adventist Spine and Pain Center in Hanford, Calif., that will treat all aspects of physical and psychological chronic pain.

 

Saint Louis University Hospital announced that its neurosurgeons can now offer a new minimally invasive option for complex spine surgery using O-arm technology.
 
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Calif., is planning to launch the Hoag Neurosurgery Spine Program.

 

Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Ark., and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock opened a neurosurgery clinic in Benton.
 
Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., built a $50 million surgical wing, which includes suites for brain and spine surgery.
 
Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., announced that it has begun using Mazor Robotics' Renaissance surgical guidance system.

 

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health established a personalized wellness program for spine surgery patients — the Sanford Center for Spine Success.
