Centinel Spine's Prodisc C Vivo reaches 100 US cases

Centinel Spine's Prodisc C Vivo implant has been used in 100 cases nationwide, the devicemaker said Oct. 27.

Prodisc C Vivo is one of the most used total disc replacement implants in the world, and it was deuted in the U.S. on Sept. 7, according to a news release. Since its U.S. debut, more than 70 surgeons have ben trained to use the device, and more than 30 new surgeons are using it.

The device uses the Prodisc Core technology, which has been used in more than 225,000 cases worldwide. Centinel Spine's cervical total disc replacement portfolio has four devices that are FDA approved for 1-level indications.

"The prodisc C Vivo system incorporates the simplicity of a keel-less disc replacement implant without sacrificing stability, an issue seen in many other implants," Adam Bruggeman, MD, said in the release. "This is the best of both worlds in disc replacement and will rapidly be adopted by surgeons who embrace motion preservation."
