Captiva Spine has added Daniel McPhillips as its director of enabling technologies and market development to accelerate the rollout of its WatchTower Spine Navigation and Robotic System.
The WatchTower navigation system will eliminate the need for intraoperative CT imagery, offering efficiency, radiation safety and cost-effective solutions for surgeons.
The navigation system has received FDA 510(k) clearance and is available for commercial use now.
"Spinal fusion procedures have become less invasive and post-operative significantly more effective, making same-day lumbar fusion surgery a reality," Mr. McPhillips said in a Feb. 20 press release. "This, along with the recent changes in the CMS inpatient-only list, makes ASC [minimally invasive] spinal fusion a real opportunity for surgeons and patients."
