Dr. Philip Louie named co-program chair of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Philip Louie, MD, of Seattle-based Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, was named co-program chair of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, according to a Dec. 20 LinkedIn post. 

Dr. Louie is a minimally invasive spine surgeon and also specializes in degenerative spinal conditions, complex spinal surgery, scoliosis and reconstructive spine surgery.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Sravisht Iyer, MD, of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery; Jeremy Steinberger, MD, of New York City-based Mount Sinai, and Hani Malone, MD, of Scripps San Diego were also named as SMISS co-directors, Dr. Louie said in a Dec. 21 email.
