Donald Staggs, MD, has joined Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain & Spine as part of a collaboration between the system and Mercy Health.
Dr. Staggs is an interventional pain physician and comprehensive spinal intervention specialist, according to a Feb. 5 press release sent to Becker's.
As part of a new collaboration, Dr. Staggs will see patients at two of Mayfield's offices and perform procedures at Mercy Hospital Fairfield and The Jewish Hospital, both in Cincinnati.
Procedures include epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablations and trials for spinal cord stimulation.
Other Mayfield physicians — Donald Carruthers, MD, Lynda Groh, MD, and Marc Orlando, MD — are also expanding access to their services at other health system partners, including Mercy.
As an independent neurosurgery practice, Mayfield is able to serve patients at different hospitals, according to the release.
Dr. Staggs joins Mayfield from the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation practice of Stephen Heis, MD, where he served as partner and medical director.
Mayfield also has added nurse practitioner Melissa Dwyer as clinical manager of physical medicine and rehabilitation. She will coordinate services among different Mayfield facilities and collaborate with partner health systems.
