Here are four spine and orthopedic leadership moves since Sept. 13:

1. Neurosurgeon Kevin Foley, MD, was named chief medical officer of True Digital Surgery. The company develops 3D digital microscopy and intelligent surgical technologies for spine, neurosurgery and ENT procedures. The role was newly created, and Dr. Foley will advise the company on its product roadmap and enabling technology.

2. D. Scott Kreiner, MD, is the new president of the North American Spine Society. He is the director of interventional spine and sports medicine at Barrow Brain & Spine in Phoenix. Dr. Kreiner's practice focuses on musculoskeletal medicine and interventional spine.

3. Clarksville, Tenn.-based Premier Medical Group is opening a new sports medicine department that will be led by Chae Ko, MD

4. Akron (Ohio) Children's orthopedics department has named pediatric orthopedic surgeon Julie Samora, MD, PhD, as its new department chair.
