Online Spine Patient Questionnaire Completion: Does Having Email Help?

Spine

A group of researchers at The Spine Center at Oregon Health and Science University examined patient online new patient questionnaire completion rates for patients with and without email addresses, according to an AANS report.

There were 5,040 new spine consultations during the two years examined with 67 percent of the patients having email. The researchers found that 82 percent of the patients with email and 62 percent of the patients without email addresses completed the questionnaire. Ten percent of patients with email and 31 percent of the patients without email did not attempt the questionnaire.

The top reason for not attempting the questionnaire among both groups was lack of time.
